OBJECTIVE

Transmit basic knowledge about industrial inspection techniques that can be performed with the aid of Drones, or UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), or RPAs (Remotely Piloted Aircraft). Identify what types of damage in what type of equipment or structure this methodology can be used. Enable the student to plan a Drone inspection operation in industrial areas.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Equipment inspectors, that is, technicians and engineers linked to the activity of inspection of equipment, in addition to Engineers and Safety Technicians involved in the activity of Inspection by drones.

COURSE CONTENT

Review of Material Deterioration Mechanisms: we will recapitulate the main processes of degradation of the materials used in the equipment and structures of industrial units, with a focus on the structural integrity of the analyzed components;

Non-Destructive Testing Techniques and damage monitoring: We will discuss the main non-destructive testing techniques used in the detection and dimensioning of defects in the analyzed components, which will allow an assessment of remaining life and the establishment of actions to correct or prevent damage;

Non-Destructive Testing Techniques and Data Digitization Applicable to Drones: We will focus on Non-Destructive Testing techniques applicable to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), focusing on techniques that can be loaded onto vehicles accessible in the domestic market, and qualified for inspection tasks;

Treatment of inspection data and reporting: We will address the process of collecting, interpreting, analyzing and selecting relevant data for the accurate diagnosis of the inspection of the component to be evaluated, meeting the design requirements for each industrial unit;

Normative aspects of industrial inspection by drones: we will carry out a verification of the framework of the Standards used in the usual NDT processes and their particularities when applicable in the inspection by drones;

Certification Process for Inspectors Using Drones: Finally, we will talk about the personnel certification process for conventional Non-Destructive Testing and the specifics when inspections are carried out using drones.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

Certificate issued upon completion of the course.
