OBJECTIVE

To transmit to the student knowledge about the different refining schemes, as well as their suitability according to the different types of oil. This course will provide the student with an overview of the key points in the allocation of oil to a refinery, as well as the different possibilities of serving the derivatives market.

TARGET AUDIENCE

The course is intended for engineers, administrators, accountants, other professionals who wish to acquire knowledge about the choice of oils for a refinery, analysis of different refining schemes and asset valuation.

INSTRUCTOR

Juarez Barbosa Perisse M.Sc

Juarez Barbosa Perissé is a chemical engineer, graduated from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), with a master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and a MBA in Business Management from the Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais (IBMEC). He joined Petrobras in 1985, working at the Duque de Caxias Refinery for 16 years, performing technical and managerial functions.

As of 2002, he performed the role of Senior Consultant in the Planning area of the Refining Park, being responsible for the construction and approval of the Gasoline Quality Portfolio, comprising 11 cracked naphtha hydrodesulfurization units, 6 coke naphtha hydrotreating units, and 4 of Catalytic Reform, as well as in the construction and approval of the Diesel Oil Quality Portfolio, comprising 10 hydrotreatment units with different severities according to the refining scheme.

He also worked on the preparation of the Refining Master Plans for the Brazilian Refining Park's Operating Units, comprising new conversion units, increased distillation capacity, in addition to treatment units.

Currently, he is working as a consultan on the Downstream area.
